Join us on Saturday 4th March for our popular Sportman`s Dinner held at the Garvock House Hotel, Dunfermline.

Special guests on the night include former Scotland player and manager, Alex McLeish and popular after dinner speaker, Peter Brown.

Tickets are available via our 1885 Business Club (businessclub@dafc.co.uk) and are priced at £55 per person or £550 for a table of 10. Tickets are limited, so please book fast!

Tickets include a three-course dinner plus entertainment.

Alexander "Alex" McLeish is a Scottish football manager and former player. Born in Glasgow, McLeish played as a central defender for Aberdeen during their 1980s glory years, making nearly 500 League appearances for the club, and won 77 caps for Scotland.

He started his managerial career with spells at Motherwell and Hibernian, before guiding Rangers to two championships and five cup wins in five years. McLeish spent ten months as manager of the Scotland national team which narrowly failed to qualify for the finals of the 2008 UEFA European championship, famously defeating France with a James McFadden wonder goal.

He then resigned this post in November 2007 to become manager of Birmingham City, who were in the Premier League at the time. Though Birmingham were relegated at the end of the season, McLeish guided them back to the Premier League in 2009. Birmingham then won the 2011 Football League Cup Final.

In recognition of his distinguished service to Scottish sport, in 2008 McLeish was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Aberdeen.

Peter Brown started his career as a banker with Bank of Scotland until retiring in 2008. A keen golfer and in the mid 90’s was Chairman of Glenbervie golf club for 5 years.

Since retiring Peter has concentrated on developing his speaking career and now entertains people on a regular basis throughout the UK. Whether it be a Burns Supper, a Corporate or a Sporting or Charity event he will do his utmost to make sure he “always leave you smiling.”
